In the spirit of “an image is worth a thousand words”… How about twenty screenshots ?
Here’s a step-by-step tutorial designed for (beta tester) radio stations looking to set up the absolute minimum automation – just one song – with TTS software, for those of you who received the “TTS distribution” from me or will in the future.
TuneTracker Systems tech blog : step-by-step tutorial : minimal setup on Hai/Genode
It’s specialized stuff really, of interest mainly to us radio nerds and TTS afficionados… But I thought I’d drop the URL here as it could serve not only as a documentation/help for our beta testers, but also for showcasing the underlying hai/Genode project, thus it might be of interest to the Genode community.
In my limited testing, Genode is rock-solid for broadcasting audio (no crash, no memory leak,
it just keeps going and going), which is a nice change for me, and makes me loyal to the Genode “brand” ^^
Would that titanium-plated stability still be there in much more extensive test runs ? Yeah I very much suspect it would remain so, and some day, someone will run a long (multi-weeks, or even months) test and I’ll know for sure. ^^
In the meantime I’ll try to keep up to speed with Genode updates to avoid any ‘bitrot’. It’s a bit easier now that I develop on both Haiku and Linux, though what I really need is to setup an NFS server on my Linux box so that I can edit the files remotely from my Haiku box, whilst compiling and building on Linux.
We’ll see.
