Sculpt 26.04 Release!

That’s well spotted. The famous hen and the egg. The screenshot was taken prior to the release (while preparing the release). So the officially released image is missing from the list of images provided by genodelabs. The running image was provided by nfeske_test. Now that the release is out, I could take the screenshot again. But is it really worth it?

How about a screenshot showing a highlighted entry of a release candidate of the current release? In my opinion the screenshot is like a visual representation of the release in the online documentation and on the website. How time-consuming would an update be?

Your suggestions are all fine and good. But this question comes across as rather pushy, forcing me to explain myself. Please be considerate by entrusting the management of my time to my own judgement.

If the update was a simple and quick matter, I would have already done it instead of writing the comment. Given that I haven’t booted my test machine for two weeks and being currently entirely focused on updating hundreds of pages of documentation as preparation for the upcoming Genode 26.05 release, I would rather prefer to not switch contexts too much. I will consider your suggestion once there is room for it.

@jjkarcher @Nos I’ve published an image (sig) (can also be installed via the update mechanism from cnuke) that contains support for the MT7922 device¹ in the pc_wifi driver and is compatible to the current Genodelabs image (at some point the driver will be part of an upcoming Sculpt OS release).

It would be nice if you would give that a spin on your AMD Framework laptops.

Edit: see post below

¹) It worked well for me with an Annadue PCIe WiFi 6E Card, AW XB530NF MT7922 RZ616 2.4G/5G/6GHz Tri Band WIFI6E Bluetooth 5.2 Wireless Network Card Adapter (points to Amazon).

Many thanks for working on wifi support for AMD based Framework (like mine). When I tried to boot it, only the genode logo appeared nothing more. I tried again with a USB-thumbdrive on my (intel based) thinkpad which boots well. If I try to boot my Framework from this USB-thumbdrive it only shows the Genode boot logo.

Oh boy, may bad - I again used my development setup that specifies LOG=core that already led to surprises in the past (see Evaluation of hardwaresupport for the Framework 16 notebook - #27 by jws).

Please try today’s image (sig).

Thanks. It works now.
