New user, first install and impressions

So I’ve been in Sculpt for about a week now. An hour or so each day.

I’m using 25.10 and I’m getting stuck when it comes to customizing anything. I cannot get any window managers to present because the ram quotas are too small. I can’t adjust the quotas because the shell window won’t present because the quota is too small for a wm. I tried using the presets wm, and the shell it provides, but haven’t gotten anywhere.

I understand version 24 presents allocation tools during deployment and version 25 does not? Should I go back to version 24?

This hangup is keeping me from doing anything valuable on the system.

Hello, may you please specify in more detail your hardware setup? According to the Discourse tag, you are on ARM ? Which board you are using ? How large is your resolution of the monitor ?

I’m posting from my phone, so forgive the ARM entry.

My MOBO is z9pad8 and I’m using the onboard Intel graphics. VGA monitor.

I’m posting from my phone now, and dont want to guess on screen resolution.

The system installed and demoed very well on my hardware. The set back came when I started toward taking it beyond the demo. Time pressure has moved me towards another system.

I really like this in concept. Your target users are going to be systems oriented people, so bringing the complexities, like defining RAM, to the surface is really important. If the new user doesn’t understand RAM, then they should move to commercial suites.

Thanks for your time
