Sculpt Freeze-Up In VirtualBox

I’ve noticed something odd in my testing of Sculpt 24.10. I’m running a Sculpt client in VirtualBox 6.1.50 on Linux, and it reliably freezes up after a relatively short time (< 30 minutes). This has never happened with previous Sculpt versions.

Starting with importing the pre-built appliance, I’ve tried it with each of the updates, including today’s, using the update mechanism, with the same results.

Following the suggestions in another topic, I tried running the Nano3D preset, with the “report dump”. Nano3D freezes and the entire UI becomes unresponsive. I waited for a while, then rebooted to look at the logs from the report dumps, but the only entries are the Nano3D messages.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is there anything else I can try as a diagnostic?

Thanks!

Currently, I have no clue about the cause of the freeze-up. Did you have a look into the VirtualBox logs? Anything suspicious?

There’s nothing in the VirtualBox logs either. Strange.

Can anyone else reproduce this?

I simply start the Nano3D preset, then leave the VM alone for about 20 minutes, and it freezes every time.
